The fallopian tubes are where fertilization takes place, which means it is here that the egg cell and sperm cell meet and join together, in the ideal case. Tubal sterility occurs when there is a so-called “tubal occlusion”, which is usually caused by inflammations. Here, adhesions form in the area of the fallopian tube or the ovaries and therefore the transport of the egg cell can no longer be ensured.
Endometriosis refers to benign growth of the endometrium outside of the uterus. The causes are unfortunately still unknown. Endometriosis can prevent a pregnancy because of adhesions and deformations of the fallopian tubes, on the one hand. Furthermore, these growths outside of the uterus also contribute increasingly to inflammatory sites, thus worsening the conditions for nidation of the egg cell.
In this case, there is no physical reason for the fertility disorder. However, today it is known that the ages of the man and the woman have an important determining influence on successful conception and pregnancy. The impact of stress – in both the professional and private environments – should not be underestimated either, as it is a key factor in success or failure.
